If you want to look like you had a full night’s sleep, I have the trick for you! This amazing concealer gives the appearance of a well rested, fresh face. I am a veteran contact lens wearer and this product does not irritate my eyes. Being contact lens safe is just one of the many perks this product has to offer.

Looking for a Cure to Sleepless Nights

Three years ago I stumbled upon this wonderful product. I was looking for something to improve the bags that were gathering under my eyes from sleepless nights with a newborn and active days with a toddler. In an exhausted haze, I was watching QVC while feeding my newborn, when I encountered the most amazing product.

Could it be true? Does such a product exist? Can I just sweep something on to my face and it looks like I’ve had a full night’s sleep? The answer is YES!!!

The Beauty Product

Shape Tape by Tarte is an amazing concealer. First, you need to find the right color. It is best to go lighter, so whatever you use for foundation, go one shade lighter. This concealer goes on creamy, is waterproof, and is safe for contact lens wearers. Match your color correctly, and Shape Tape could be used alone or under foundation. I’ve been using the same foundation for years now and swear by that too, but that is for another post.

To apply, remember this key fact – a little goes a long way. Using the wand that it comes with, dab on two or 3 tiny dots under each eye, right on the dark circle. Next, moisten a beauty sponge (QVC sold the Shape Tape and Sponge together) and blend the dots with with sponge. You’ll quickly learn which technique work for you to cover the dark mess that shows your age and sleeplessness. I’m kidding, but when you see how great the results are you will be impressed.

Things to Remember:

  • To get the best results, don’t go too light. The color only needs to be a shade lighter then your foundation shade.
  • A little bit goes a long way. I am only on my 2nd bottle in 3 years.
  • The sponge doesn’t need to be saturated, just slightly wet
  • Apply foundation after the concealer.
  • If you get the right color (depending on the time of year, you may be able to get away with only using the Shape Tape and skip the foundation altogether.

With so many shades to choose from you can buy a travel size concealer for as little as $10! The regular size is around $27 but check out Amazon or QVC for specials because you may get some extras thrown in at no extra cost. Not too long ago they threw in Tarte’s Glow Wand and Sponge. Stay tuned for that review, the verdict is still out on the glow wand.

A True Story About the BEST Beauty Product

One last note, after only 4 hours of sleep, we needed provisions for a BBQ, so I headed to the grocery store. Not feeling up to putting on a full face of make-up, I just used Tarte’s Shape Tape. I picked up what I needed which included beer and the lady at check out carded me! “Excuse me? I haven’t been asked that in quite a long time.” She replied, “You’re looking a little young.” Thanks Dolores! When she gave me my ID back she said to keep up whatever I doing 🙂 Score one for the lady who is well over the legal drinking age. This is really amazing concealer!
