Spooky cinema is a great way to kick off the autumnal season. With so many movies to choose from, you can have scary movies as your soundtrack for the entire month of October. Below is a list of the classics recommended to get your scare on. Please note that most of these aren’t suitable for children, so check the ratings before you watch.

Streaming Halloween Movies
Many of these can be streamed right to your Smart TV or streaming device. We have a Roku and its easy to use; set-up took only a few minutes. With streaming you have the option to rent the movie or if you have a subscription, you can watch it for free on many of the channels.

A scientist attempts to create life by assembling a creature from body parts of the deceased.
The Invisible Man (1933)
A scientist discovers the secret of invisibility, he takes the drug, and it drives him mad to the point of terrorizing a village.
Dark Shadows
An imprisoned vampire is set free and returns to his ancestral home two centuries later, where his dysfunctional descendants are in need of his protection.
An American Werewolf in London
Two American college students on a walking tour of Britain are attacked by a werewolf that none of the locals admit exists.
Young Frankenstein
A young neurosurgeon inherits the castle of his grandfather, the famous Dr. Victor von Frankenstein; he believes that his grandfather was delusional, but then discovers a book that changes his mind. (A comedy)

After moving into a large house that was the site of a grisly mass murder, newlyweds are terrorized by demonic forces.
The Fog (any version)
Exactly 100 years after a ship mysteriously sank in its waters of a small coastal town, an unearthly fog rolls in to haunt the same town.
Dracula (1931)
A vampire who emigrates from Transylvania to England prey upon the blood of living victims.
Dracula Untold
A reboot of the Dracula film series, an origin story of Dracula.
Hocus Pocus
A youngster moves to Salem and awakens a trio of diabolical witches that were executed in the 17th century.
Hocus Pocus 2
A sequel to the 1st one, two friends accidentally bring back the Sanderson Sisters to modern day Salem and have to figure out how to stop the child-hungry witches from wreaking havoc on the world.
Halloween Tree
A group of trick-or-treating children learn about the origins and influences of Halloween, one of their friends is spirited away by mysterious forces.

The Peanuts gang celebrates Halloween while Linus hangs back to wait for the Great Pumpkin.

House on Haunted Hill
A group of diverse people are offered $1,000,000 to spend the night in a haunted house with a horrifying past.
A Nightmare on Elm Street (2010)
A group of teenagers living on one street are stalked and murdered in their dreams by a disfigured man named Freddy Krueger. They discover that they share a common link from their childhood that makes them targets for Krueger.
Halloween (1978)
Fifteen years after murdering his sister on Halloween Night, Michael Myers escapes from a mental hospital and returns to his small town to kill again.
The Exorcist (1973 – director’s cut)
A charming 12-year-old girl becomes possessed by the devil; people die and her mom’s only hope lies with two priests.
